Our mission is to make a positive difference by helping vulnerable animals and reduce their suffering through raising funds to support those who provide for their care and welfare in rescue.
WETNOSE ANIMAL AID was set up in the year 2000, with a group of volunteers as a non-profit Ltd Company and trade mark 3124133 by Andrea & Gavin Gamby-Boulger who have worked with horses and ran a boarding/dog rescue Centre for 13 years in Norfolk; they sold their kennels to set up Wetnose Animal Aid to help other Rescue Centres who need more support.
Many people never think of Animal Rescue Centres as we are so busy with our everyday lives, we forget what is around us, if we are lucky we have a park or an open space to go to into for our lunch hour, but many people and children forget that nature is all around us every minute of every day, from birds singing in the mornings or bees collecting honey from our flowers to bats flying overhead at night.
We do of course get a horrible reminder of our wildlife when we see a dead hedgehogs on our roads, which are now in decline, or a munkjack deer. The only time we think of dogs, cats or horses is when we want to own one, but what about the rest of the year? As the number of stray or abandoned dogs in the UK reaches over 110,000 a year which is unbelievable in itself that means that 21 dogs are put down every day!
There are many reasons why we need more animal rescue centres not less, these people have so many skills, good animal knowledge, understanding, dedication and passion for animals that have been dumped, badly treated, neglected or breed for money. Rescue Centres will look after them and try to find them a new loving home or release them back into the wild when they are better.
These people are our forgotten heroes and we should all do more to help, children, schools, local companies, local suppliers we can all help more. Remember its all animals from frogs, bees, hedgehogs, cats, dogs, ponies, horses, reptiles all animals in Rescue need our help today. This is why Wetnose raises funds to help those who need it most, our sick and neglected animals.
Wetnose will vet centres by Application Form and will visit some centres, funds are given out by buying equipment such as incubators, cages, heat pads, cattle feeders, rugs, items which are always needed and much appreciated, or by buying animal feed or pay a vets bill. So please support the cause that cares, helping one paw, hoof, claw at a time.
